Starting GB themed crafts...

I've decided to start making certain items for my 30th birthday in May. I'm planning on having a GB themed garden party in line with the Queen's Jubilee celebrations. I'd love all the decorations to be hand made hence me starting making now! I've made 50 cards over the past couple of days and some will be my party invitations and of course my lovely pen pals will receive one too!

I've also made some thank you postcards using my Pro Marker pens (which I love!) and some GB themed embellishments.

Recent makes

I'm so happy with these Valentines Day Gifts in the shape of crackers. I made them with felt, coordinating ribbon and embellishments. Each cracker contains a packet of Love Hearts sweets and some material rose petals to scatter! There's also room inside to add a love letter or even a love joke!
I've wrapped them in heart cellophane bags, with love stickers and heart confetti included. The bag itself is tied with pretty ribbon and embellished with heart beads.
I've also made some Valentines Day Peg It! cards. I'm so pleased with the designs and how they coordinate nicely.

A whole lot of bargains...

Today my husband and I went to Harrogate which was lovely.
My favourite discount book shop is there and I think they had been saving these just for me! There was only one left of some of them and they were all reduced to really cheap prices. They are so expensive online so I was really pleased with these finds.
My husband bought me this sewing box which was reduced in Cath Kidston. I'm a big storage fan and like everything to have its place! This is perfect because its very spacious. My plans for the weekend...mmm..tomorrow I'm hoping to list some more items over at my Etsy shop.

Giving my creative spirit some wings

I came back from a walk today and found that a lovely package had been delivered...It contained a signed book Taking Flight by Kelly Rae Roberts. It is so perfect for me that I cried! How have I escaped hearing about her before now!? What wonderful ideas and inspirational art work this book contains. I'm really looking forward to documenting my creative journey in it too.
I can confidently say that if there was ever an artist.author.possibilitarian (her words) that I needed to find out about then this is the lady. Within a minute of looking at this book I felt like it could actually help me in so many ways that I couldn't even begin to describe how right here and now. You will just have to trust me.
I am so grateful, thankful and appreciative to the lovely Maria for sending it to me. I'll be sure to keep you posted about my progress...I can imagine using these vellum stickers in a project, I adore butterflies and leaves. How exciting!
I've since signed up to receive updates from Kelly's blog, looked at her website, followed her on Twitter and liked her Facebook page. I'd encourage you to do the same!

Photos at last!

Sorry it's taken me so long to take these pictures. Every time I have been able to do it its been too dark! Big thank you to Rusty for the mail and hand made neck warmer. As you know I'm a big hand made, arty, crafty fan! I am really enjoying wearing this as its so cold, wet and windy in England right now.
I am currently replying to my mail and someone will be receiving this Friendship Book which was handmade by Rin...it will all make sense when you get it heehee!
Thank you to Maria and family for the mail and photo! Your card had pride of place near my tea cup lamp!
Thank you to Bree for such fabulous and fun mail! Your drawings are so cute! I really enjoyed looking at your photos, hearing your news and learning about your country.
Thanks also to Becky for the wonderful letters and stationery. It's very thoughtful and kind of you and I shall look forward to using them later today!
A few people have asked what I look like. This is me in the headband my friend got me for Christmas!
What else have I been up too? Hmm...I made this puppy softie from a pair of gloves for my husband for Valentines Day on February 14th...
and I got a few crafty bargains in the January sales!
Asides from that I started back at work after the holidays!
Hope you're all well. Please feel free to share my blog with your letter-writing friends, my post box has been full of boring things like bills for a while now!

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone is having a lovely New Year! I stayed in last night and my friend came over. We watched London's firework display on the TV it was incredible! You can see some pictures and videos here.
I've been tired today so made these felt hearts for Valentines Day and drunk lots of tea!
My brother in law who lives in Sydney sent me this lovely heart tape so I decorated some pegs with it.
 Another felt heart decoration..

There's lots happening in the UK in 2012,
and it's my 30th birthday in May!
I've got lots of photos to take tomorrow. I shall have a good sleep tonight and do some more posting.
Much love
